Performance, reliability and Analysis of PV Systems

This PV installation at
Parson's Green, Guildford
is one of many being
monitored under the UK
PV Domestic Field Trial

As part of the IEA PVPS programme, Task 2 collects and analyses performance data of PV power plants in various system techniques and disseminates suitable information on the performance, long-term reliability and the technical and economic output of PV systems and subsystems.

UK involvement in Task 2 is shared between BRE and Northumbria PV applications centre. The two organisations are providing cost and performance data for around 15 systems from the UK PV Domestic Field Trials. This is contributing to improving the geographic spread of Task 2's Performance Database and to system costs for different technologies as part of the Subtask 6 - PV Cost Over Time.

UK PV Domestic Field Trials used the design, construction and monitoring of PV installations as a learning opportunity for utilities, building
developers and other key players in the process of PV installation and operation. The Third Technical Report is available here.

For further information about UK participation in Task 2 please contact Nick Davies at BRE.
